There two diffent types of memory foam mattresses one with foam and memory foam and one with springs with memory foam on top. Here we talk about a foam memory foam mattress.
Memory foam, a polyurethane foam with chemicals added to increase its elasticity and viscosity, is a product that is designed to conform to your body's shape and reduce the pressure points. Consumers have the option of purchasing memory foam mattresses or toppers to experience these benefits. Proper care of memory foam is essential to product life. While unpacking your new mattress or topper or administering periodic maintenance, you should be aware of how to best care for your product.
Things You'll Need:
Warm water and Mild detergent
Exercise caution when unpacking your new memory foam mattress or mattress pad. It will likely be wrapped in plastic. Take care not to puncture the product with scissors or any other sharp object you may choose to use to cut open the packaging.
Allow at least 24 hours for your memory foam product to acclimate to the temperature in its new environment.
Unroll the mattress or mattress pad gently. If you feel resistance, you will need to wait longer before unrolling, until there is no resistance. Once unrolled, allow the pad to take shape before making the bed.
Rotate your mattress or mattress pad, every three months, from head to foot to avoid body impressions and to preserve the life of the product. Mattress pads can be rotated and turned over, but mattresses do not need to be turned over.
Spot clean the memory foam product with warm water and a mild detergent, in case of stains. Rinse the area; allow it to air dry.
